The Debasers
Friday, November 16, 2018
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Every year, we handpick the best new play by one of our students and produce the show for your enjoyment. We invite you to support our theatre stars of tomorrow!
Indie-punk band The Debasers are getting ready to play their first major show in their hometown of Dallas, Texas. However, the bandmates are all at their wits end after spending months crammed together in the back of a van on their first cross-country tour. When their lead guitarist, Clyde, disappears on a drug- and alcohol-fueled bender, the band is forced to make a tough decision about their future. Mixing biting comedy with potent human drama, this world premiere from University of Houston senior Eric Moore explores addiction, relationships and artistic integrity in the era of social media and a transforming music industry.
