Celebrity Chef: Christopher Williams

Wednesday, January 26, 2022

11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Chef Chris Williams is the co-founder and Executive Chef at Lucille’s. Founded in 2012 by Chris and Ben Williams, Lucille’s is a locally owned restaurant in the heart of Houston’s Museum District that specializes in well-refined Southern Cuisine with infusions of international techniques and flavors. The restaurant is a tribute to the culinary tradition begun by his great-grandmother Lucille B. Smith, who was an educator, culinary innovator and successful entrepreneur. Lucille’s 1913, a nonprofit founded by Chef Chris Williams, pays homage to his great-grandmother and her love for her community. Chef Chris started giving back to the community by providing over 3,000 meals at the start of the pandemic for Houston’s frontline workers, which caught the attention of World Central Kitchen, a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. Through a partnership with WCK, Chris was able to expand the reach of Lucille’s 1913 to provide meals to Houston’s underserved communities including Sunnyside, Acres Homes, Fifth Ward, Third Ward, the elderly community, and the Imani School. Celebrity Chef Chris Williams will be joining us and featuring his favorite Southern recipes at Cougar Woods Dining Commons on Wednesday, January 26 from 11 am-2 pm. In addition to serving the UH community, the featured meal will also be packaged and donated to Houstonians in need.
