Comprehensive Profiling of Brain Cellular Alterations for Drug Discovery
Tuesday, September 21, 2021
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
While international brain mapping initiatives remain focused on the structure and working of the healthy brain, the need to map the unhealthy brain is compelling and urgent.
Especially important is the need to map the complex and multi-scale brain cellular alterations associated with pathological conditions like traumatic brain injury (concussion), ischemia, binge alcohol, tumor growth, and experimental drug treatments, in a comprehensive manner.
In this talk, Badri Roysam will describe a practical approach to pathological brain tissue mapping with a focus on rational therapeutics development.
About the Speaker
Badri Roysam, Ph.D., is the Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen University Professor and chair of the UH Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
