Write Winning Grant Proposals Workshop
Thursday, November 7, 2019
8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Division of Research is bringing back to the University of Houston the widely acclaimed “Write Winning Grant Proposals” one-day seminar, presented by John D. Robertson, PhD, of Grant Writers’ Seminars and Workshops. The seminar addresses both practical and conceptual aspects that are critical to writing competitive grant proposals.
While the “Write Winning Grant Proposals” seminar is based on NIH and NSF grant application guidelines, the principles can be applied to any agency. It will focus on helping you:
- write for reviewers and “sell” your proposal;
- develop ideas and organize your presentations using a linear progression of logic to guide reviewers through your application; and
- write for two different reviewer audiences- the assigned reviewers who have read the application in its entirety before the review meeting and the non-assigned reviewers who have not- and develop advocacy for funding in both groups.
Attendees will receive extensive handouts, including the slides and examples used during the seminars, as well as a copy of The Grant Application Writer’s Workbook of their choice (NIH, NSF, USDA, Any Agency).
