This year, the University of Houston’s Homecoming Week is October 16-23, 2021. The theme is “Back Where We Belong.” Staff and faculty are encouraged to participate in the Homecoming Spirit Bell Competition and to show the most Cougar Spirit by decorating their offices during Homecoming Week.

The Membership and Elections Committee is charged with the responsibility of regularly reviewing staff representation in university governance and making recommendations for staff appointments to university-wide committees. The committee oversees the elections of Staff Council members and officers and makes recommendations to the Staff Council President to fill vacancies in Council membership. The committee coordinates member onboarding.

The Fiscal Year 2022 Mandatory Training period will begin on Monday, October 4, 2021, and run until Friday, November 19, 2021. Per SAM policy 02.A.26, it is the responsibility of each System employee to complete annual mandatory training. This includes full and part-time faculty and staff, student workers, and temporary employees paid through the University’s payroll system.
