STI Screening at the Student Health Center

As part of Sexual Health Awareness Month, the Student Health Center is offering an STI Screening package for asymptomatic (without symptoms) self-pay students.  Appointments are required.

The Future of Crime Labs and Forensic Science

The UH Law Center will host a symposium on the future of crime labs and forensic science to commemorate the 10th anniversary of a landmark report by the National Academy of Science that questioned the validity of certain standard forensic practices and urged major reforms. The symposium will feature presentations and discussions with criminal justice scholars, a forensic scientist, prosecutors and defense attorneys.

Recovery Ally Training

Recovery Ally Training’s mission is to promote the inclusivity of and sensitivity towards individuals in recovery by empowering faculty, staff, and students with the tools and knowledge to interact empathically and knowledgeably to support those in recovery and those struggling with active substance use.

Camping at Enchanted Rock; Hill Country Excursion

Find your next adventure with CRWC Outdoor Adventure with a camping trip in Enchanted Rock. This Hill Country excursion will include backpacking, hiking, camping, swimming and more. Attend the pre-trip meeting on Sept. 16. The registration deadline is Sept. 13.

QPR Suicide Prevention Training

This nationally recognized program is designed to educate persons to recognize and respond to the signs of suicidal thinking and behaviors. Individuals will learn how to ask the suicide question, how to persuade the person to contact appropriate assistance, and how to identify referral options.

Ethics Center Lecture Series: “Moral Vulnerability in a Time of Political Crisis”

Our current era is one of extraordinary political polarization, even political crisis. This crisis not only affects everyone, but also requires more of each of us. How each of us responds to this crisis will tell us important things about who we are. Professor Todd May, Clemson University, will frame the nature of the crisis, discuss what it requires of us and show how our responses reveal our moral character.

Fall 2019 CERT Class

CERT is a training program that prepares you to help yourself, your family, and your neighbors in the event of a disaster. During an incident, emergency services personnel may not be able to reach everyone right away. By getting trained in CERT, you will have the skills to help emergency responders save lives and protect property. The course is two weekends in September and you must attend all days. September 20th/27th from 5P-8P and September 21st/28th from 8A-5P. View this flyer for more information, and go to our CERT page to register.
