In late January, Brian Hall, Emergency Management Specialist with the UH Office of Emergency Management received the ‘Friend of the Police’ award from the University of Houston – Clear Lake (UHCL) Police Department. The ‘Friend of the Police’ award is given to those community members not directly employed by the UHCL Police Department, but who have aided, contributed by work or deed to the mission, values, and success of the department. Brian was recognized for his work with the UHCL Police Department on their Contact Tracing Program using the Incident Management System, Veoci. Brian has been instrumental in the creation, continued development and maintenance of the Veoci System for the COVID-19 Contact Tracing and Forms management throughout the pandemic. Working in the system, let alone designing processes and work flows, is very tedious and complicated. Assistant Chief, Andrea Black adds, “I understand what it took for Brian to design the UH system and know that it is not as simple as it sounds.” Brian has worked tirelessly with all members of the University of Houston System regarding the COVID-19 Contact Tracing and forms development, helping to create a safer learning and working environment for all of our University of Houston System communities.
