Faculty, Staff Invited to UH Football Ticket Giveaway and Tailgate

Houston, Oct. 4, 2017 —It's once again time for the University of Houston's annual Faculty and Staff Ticket Giveaway and Tailgate event.

Happening Thursday, Oct. 19, at TDECU Stadium, UH faculty and staff are invited to participate in the "Night under the Stars" black-out game against the University of Memphis. All are encouraged to wear black to the game as the Cougars take on the Memphis Tigers.

UH Faculty Senate and UH Staff Council will host two major events geared toward faculty and staff preceding the game.

The first will be a Game Day Ticket Giveaway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 13, in the Student Center Multipurpose Room. At this event, representatives from UH Athletics will be on hand to distribute free tickets to the UH vs. Memphis football game. The free tickets will be limited to one per person while supplies last and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. When picking up their free ticket at the Ticket Giveaway, employees will be able to purchase additional tickets for family and friends for $10 each.

The tickets will all be reserved seating, so faculty and staff who wish to sit together with friends, family and/or large groups are encouraged to purchase any additional tickets at the same time as receiving their free one. This is necessary in order for seats to be grouped together. To participate in the ticket giveaway, faculty and staff must be full-time, benefits-eligible employees and present their UH ID upon pick up of the ticket.

Faculty Senate and Staff Council will also host the "Night under the Stars" Faculty/Staff Tailgate on game day (Oct. 19) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Shasta's Square/Gate 4. The tailgate will have free food, drinks, music and plenty of swag for UH employees and their families. Faculty and staff will need their UH ID for entry and must bring a driver's license or other government-issued photo ID if they wish to consume alcoholic beverages.

Game time will be at 7 p.m. inside TDECU Stadium.
