Administration & Finance / News / News ReleaseFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Javier Perea Spring Semester Bookstore Loans Available for StudentsHouston, Jan. 5, 2017 — Students at the University of Houston may apply for a $400 bookstore loan to purchase textbooks and other academic supplies. The loans are available through Feb. 1. Students can apply online by following these steps: Sign in to AccessUH Click on the myUH icon Select Student Financials Select Optional Fees Select the term for the loan (Spring 2017) Click the magnifying glass and select BKLOAN under Valid Value Click save Once the process is complete, funds will take a couple of hours to become available. To use the loan, students should visit the UH Bookstore in the Student Center and present their Cougar Card to the cashier. The loan will be added to the student's fee bill, and will be due by the 60th calendar day of the spring semester. Funds not used by Feb. 9 will become unavailable for use. Though the loan is interest free, it does have a $5 non-refundable origination fee. For more information about the loans, click here. About the University of Houston Public Art CollectionThe University of Houston Public Art Collection comprises more than 500 works across the UH System, including nearly 300 pieces found on the UH campus. The collection contains works by local, regional, national and international artists, across all forms of media and style. This is provided to the community through funds set aside from campus construction and renovation costs as a result of an initiative approved by the Texas Legislature in 1969.
