Houston, Aug. 27, 2018 — University of Houston Dining Services has welcomed a new director for Moody Towers Dining Commons. James McKuin will oversee operations at the campus dining facility.

McKuin comes to UH from Portland State University, where he opened the catering program with Chartwells Higher Education. His first experience working with Chartwells was at a dinner event at San Francisco State University. He has been with Compass Group for the past six years.

He is also a structural engineer who earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from Utah State University. By the age of 25, he owned his own structural engineering business before eventually moving on to the food service industry in San Francisco.

His passions are traveling and food. He loves to plan vacations around different types of cuisines and chefs. His favorite chef is Switzerland native Daniel Humm.

McKuin plans to invest his energy and skills to help develop the current team at Moody Towers and enhance the menu by bringing new cuisines to better meet the needs and preferences of the diverse student population.
