Houston, Nov. 20, 2017 - University of Houston students, staff and faculty will be able to shop for a wide range of gifts and products during a special holiday-themed UH Farmers Market.

The holiday market will take place Wednesday, Nov. 29, from noon to 4 p.m. in Wilhelmina Grove, which is located on the north side of campus, nestled between the Fine Arts Building, Valenti School of Communication and the Moores Opera House.

New vendors who will be in attendance include Kate's Cookies, Matisse Bakery, Tenacious Leaf, Carla Sue Houston, Pop Soap, Bug in the Box and Onata Fragrances.

They will join numerous other vendors who have participated in the UH Farmers Markets that have taken place every other Wednesday this semester, including Loam Agronomics, Eureka Acres, Plant it Forward, Lone Star Bee Co., TX Hill Country Olive Co., Popston, Let Them Eat Cobbler, Radicle Juice, Grab A Cone and Mad Hectic Foods.

"We are excited at being able to host this special holiday event here at UH, which will make it convenient for our campus community to stock up on holiday gifts while supporting local businesses," said Lauren Ross, a registered dietitian and UH Dining's director of Wellness and Sustainability.

The holiday market will conclude the inaugural semester of the UH Farmers Market, which launched in September as a way for the UH community to shop for locally sourced and produced food items without having to leave campus.
