Popular Campus Food Truck Program Expands Weekend Hours

food truck expands weekend hours

Houston, Sept. 12, 2017 — The thriving food truck program at the University of Houston has added more hours of operation on the weekend to better serve the residential student population.

The weekend food trucks operate across from Cougar Village II near the Student Services Building. Trucks are now scheduled at that site Saturday and Sunday nights from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. The Saturday hours are a new addition this semester.

Food trucks are also continuing to operate during the same late-night hours Monday through Thursday at the Cougar Village II location, as well as the Bayou Oaks and Cougar Place residential communities.

The food truck program has been a popular feature of the campus dining program ever since the first trucks were invited to campus in the summer of 2012. Truck pad sites now dot the campus landscape, including locations next to the Science Building along Entrance 14, behind Cemo Hall and near the Law Center, all three of which operate Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Trucks also are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Energy Research Park, and Tuesdays and Thursdays adjacent to the Valenti School of Communications.

In addition, a shaved-ice food truck is scheduled to be on campus Monday through Friday from 3:15 to 7 p.m. at the Science Building/Entrance 14 location.

To view the complete campus food truck schedule, visit the food truck page on the UH Dining website.
