Houston, March 24, 2017 — University of Houston Dining Services has unveiled new menu boards and sustainability signage in the Fresh Food Company at Moody Towers and Cougar Woods Dining Hall. In both locations, new signage at the entrance of each line lists menu offerings during each meal period. This will cut down on line times as well as help guests navigate the dining halls. Fresh Food Company also has been updated with new menu boards at each station that provide menu summaries and nutrition information cards. Guests are now able to easily identify menu items, calculate calorie counts and choose items tailored to specific dietary needs. In addition, a waste donation tracker has been installed above the dish return station in both dining halls. The sign shows the number of pounds of safe food waste donated to Campus Kitchens in the current year. UH Dining partnered with Campus Kitchens in the fall of 2015 to recover nonperishable food as well as prepared meals that were left over from production. The group then uses the donation to feed those in need across the city. The amount donated so far this year is 7,308 pounds.
