Dietitian Hosting Smoothie Social at Cougar Place

UH Dining Service’s registered dietitian, Travis Ramirez, will host a smoothie social at Cougar Place on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 6:30 p.m.

Residents will learn to how to make fresh and nutritious smoothies right in their own rooms.

“I will teach students how simple and easy it is to make a fresh smoothie with only a few ingredients and a blender that can be purchased at any houseware retailer,” Ramirez said.

The smoothie recipes will include vegan and vegetarian options such as the Berry-licious, which is made from blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and soy milk, and the Mighty Coog, made from Greek yogurt, dark cocoa powder, cherries and cinnamon.

“I am looking forward to meeting and educating the residents on how easy it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle,” said Ramirez.
