During its annual meeting Feb. 18, the Board of Regents voted to approve the proposed parking rates for the 2016-2017 academic year.

The new prices were presented at Parking and Transportation’s 2016 Parking Forum earlier this semester, and are part of a much bigger 10-year plan the department has proposed.

Bob Browand, director of Parking and Transportation Services, discussed the whole plan in detail during the forum and provided explanations as to why certain changes were being made.

“With rising operating costs and debt service expenses, we knew we needed to look at our program and restructure things a bit,” said Browand. “The rate increase is just one part of that restructuring.”
