UH Dining Welcomes Accelerate to Leadership Manager to Team

Jami BlackstonUniversity of Houston Dining Services welcomes Jami Blackston as a new Accelerate to Leadership manager to the retail and residential operations team.

The leadership development program provides new hires with early career profit and loss ownership, people management experiences and supplemental leadership development training.

“I joined the A2L program to gain more experience in different sectors of business and learn as much as I can about the service industry,” she said.

The Accelerate to Leadership program offers college graduates the opportunity to take on entry-level positions within Aramark.

“One of the things I enjoy most about my current role as a retail manager is meeting and working with different people every day,” she said.

Blackston reflected on what she hopes to accomplish at UH.

“My goal is to learn how each department helps the program grow and thrive,” she said. “I also want to enhance my human resources skills and apply my experiences to my role so I can help others.”

In her free time, Blackston enjoys traveling, playing soccer and spending time with family.

“I have been playing soccer since I was five years old and it is my passion,” she said. “I played soccer for Southern University and A&M College in Louisiana as a forward, left striker and still enjoy playing to this day.”

Blackston will continue serve as a location manager for retail, residential, human resources, marketing and accounting operations.
