Learn How to be a 'Rot Star' in Campus Community Garden

The University of Houston community is invited to learn the basics of composting during a special RecycleMania event in the campus community garden.

“How to be a Rot Star: Composting 101” is being organized by the UH Office of Sustainability. It will take place Tuesday, March 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the garden, which is adjacent to Cougar Woods Dining Hall. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. Admission is free. The event is open to the public.

Those who come will receive hot vegan soup from UH Dining. Scheduled speakers include John Ferguson from Nature’s Way Resources and Pat Greer from Pat Greer’s Kitchen.

The Office of Sustainability will be giving away to one lucky attendee a bokashi compost bin, which is ideal for apartments and indoor usage.
