Residential Move-in May Impact Traffic And Parking On Campus

The University of Houston community should be prepared for possible traffic delays and an impact on parking during residential move-in.

Residents of Cougar Villages I and II, Moody Towers, the Quadrangle and Cougar Place will be moving in Thursday, Aug. 21, through Saturday, Aug. 23. Although mobility control officials will be out directing traffic, congestion is possible from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. all three days along Spur 5, Entrance 1/University Drive, the Campus Loop Road, and Cullen Boulevard from Cougar Place Drive to Wheeler.

During move-in, the Campus Loop Road will be converted into a one-way street for westbound traffic from Entrance 1/University Drive to Cullen Boulevard. Access to the Campus Loop Road from Cullen Boulevard will be closed. Those who park in lot 13A will have to use Entrance 6 to access the Campus Loop Road.

Parking lots 20A and 20C will be used for the queuing/staging area and for housing check-in parking. Visitors participating in the move-in will be directed to park in lots 4A, 9C and 12A.

In addition, parking lots 6A and 6B will not be used for move-in, but those who usually park in those locations may experience delays getting in and out because of the increase in traffic in the immediate area.
