EPSY 3360: Education of Children with Disabilities
Cr. 3. (3-9). Prerequisite: consent of instructor. Field-based course. Provides an overview of special education. Characteristics, instructional strategies, and services for children with disabilities.
EPSY 3361: Behavior Management Theories in Special Education
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: admission to professional development sequence. Introduction to affective theories and principles of behavior management.
EPSY 4397: Selected Topics in Educational Psychology
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: consent of instructor. Selected topics in educational psychology. May be repeated for credit when topics vary.
EPSY 4398: Special Problems
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: consent of instructor. Special problems in special education.
EPSY 4362: Behavior Modification in Special Education
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: EPSY 3360. Theory and principles of behavioral analysis and behavior modification in special education settings.
EPSY 4363: Individualized Educational Programming
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: EPSY 3360. Development and application of individualized curriculum and material for the special learner related to the Individualized Education Program process.
EPSY 4365: Principles of Diagnostic Teaching in Special Education
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: EPSY 3360. Principles and application of diagnostic teaching techniques.
EPSY 4367: Consultation Strategies for Special Education
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: EPSY 3360. Consultation theories and strategies for use with students, parents, teachers, administrators and constituents of the special education setting.
EPSY 4391:4392: Student Teaching in Special Education
Cr. 3. (3-9). Prerequisites: admission to special education program and approval of advisor. Supervised observation and student teaching in regular and special class assignments.
