1 There is no equivalent course number for UH. This course will transfer in as an elective.
2 Course number(s) or amount of credit is determined by departmental faculty review of applicant's exam or test scores.
3 No additional credit given for BOTH French Language and French Literature.
4 Students must take HIST 1378 or an approved substitute, or take the CLEP: History of the United States II test (*note: students may petition to receive credit for HIST 1378 instead of 1377, but must do so by filing a general petition with the History Department; otherwise, credit will be given for HIST 1377 only)
5 Students who score a 3 on AP Calculus BC may receive a total of 8 hours credit for MATH 1431-1432.
6 Students who score a 5 on AP Physics B may receive a total of 6 hours credit for PHYS 1301-1302.
7 Students who score a 4 or 5 on AP Physics C (mechanics) may receive a total of 6 hours credit for PHYS 1301-1302.
8 Students who receive AP credit for POLS 1336-1337 must then complete three hours of advanced political science from subfields of public administration, public law, and American politics, or from POLS 3331, 3349, 4361, and 4366.
9 Students passing the American Government test may not take POLS 1336 or 1337 but must take three additional hours selected from a list of approved 3000 or 4000 level POLS courses. Contact the Political Science Department for approved courses.
10 For consideration of additional credit for SPAN 2301, students must take the University of Houston's Spanish Placement test given by the University Testing Services (students from Spanish-Heritage speaking background must take the Spanish-speaker placement test at the Spanish Department).
11 For consideration of additional credit for SPAN 2302, students must take the University of Houston's Spanish Placement test given by the University Testing Services (students from Spanish-Heritage speaking background must take the Spanish-speaker placement test at the Spanish Department).
12 For consideration of junior level credit in place of SPAN 1505, students must take the University of Houston's Spanish Placement test given by the University Testing Services (students from Spanish-Heritage speaking background must take the Spanish-speaker placement test at the Spanish Department).
