You may have received reports of wireless issues over the past few days.  Symptoms may include disconnections from the wireless network. This issue has been escalated to the highest level of support with our Aruba vendor team. We are currently working with Aruba engineers to identify a root cause and resolve the issue. The event is not campus-wide but is randomly impacting connections in 55 buildings using the Aruba Wi-Fi infrastructure

The university wireless team in conjunction with Aruba Network engineers have identified the specific problem causing wireless user issues and are working toward a solution.
IssueUpdate 3 - A workaround has been implemented. Performance monitoring continues.

The university wireless team has implemented a workaround solution to address the issue. Administrators and vendor support continue to monitor the service for corrected performance.

UiT support-desk personnel have documented a reduction in calls to the center regarding this wireless issue. The implemented workaround appears to be mitigating users experience. Aruba Networks is developing a permanent solution and assisting us in monitoring the event. Please report wireless availability issues to the UiT Support-Desk. The Aruba WiFi network is operating normally. We have not received a permanent patch at this time but we have a workaround we can utilize if we determine that the situation is deteriorating enough to create client issues. We monitor the situation daily and will apply the workaround as needed.
