You will need Real Player 8 Basic which you can obtain free of charge. The one for the Mac downloads an installer. Clicking on the installer icon unpacks Real Player and makes appropriate adjustments to your system. I believe that the one for Mac challenged, PC users works the same way.
If you believe that you have Real Player G2 installed, see if you can play the following sound clip. You will use physical as the name and rocks as the password. Click on the arrow pointing to the right on the real icon at the top of the page.
If you can hear the clip then use the back arrow to return.
Read the following and make sure that you system will support Real Player 8Basic:
Minimum requirements for RealPlayer G2:
Windows:
90MHz Intel Pentium processor or equivalent, 16MB of RAM, 14.4Kbps modem (audio
only); 28.8Kpbs modem (video), 16-bit sound card and speakers, 65,000-color video display
card (video), Windows 95 operating system, Internet connection and web browser.
Macintosh:
Mac* OS 8.1 or later, 32 MB RAM, 65MB virtual memory, 604 PowerPC* (200 MHz or
better), Internet connection, Browser support: Microsoft* Internet Explorer* 4.01 or later or
Netscape* 4.05 or later
Download -- I recommend starting with RealPlayer G2 which is free.
If your system does not meet or exceed the above minimum system requirements, please click
here to download an older version of RealPlayer. This is somewhat experimental depending on the operating system you are using.
Now try the following sound file.
