October 13, 2009 - Co-Recipient of the Graduate Student Teaching Excellence Award
"The department has decided that graduate students doing an exceptional job teaching should be acknowledged. [...]. The department will aim for recognizing two students each year with a preference for choosing a 4th and a 5th year student."
"This year's exceptional teachers are Amelie Carlton and Elisabetta Gentile. They both received very high teaching evaluations and flattering comments from the students such as: 'She makes an ordinarily difficult/dull class easy to listen to and understand' (Elisabetta) and 'Induct her into the economics teachers hall of fame' (Amelie). We hereby follow the advice of the latter anonymous undergrad."
Bent Sørensen, Graduate Director

The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) hosted a series of roundtable discussions on the role played by economists in the climate change debate. We also got a chance to engage with our legislators in Capitol Hill about the urgency of climate action.
