Staff member Tanya Erica (Kasten) Lunstroth, who worked at the University of Houston for more than 30 years, died recently of cancer.
Lunstroth was a recipient of the 2003 Staff Excellence Award. After her retirement from UH in August 2004, she returned to work a month later as a part-time staff member at The Honors College.
She was a founding member of Stages Repertory Theatre and The Miranda Project, and performed in The Houston Shakespeare Festival, The Kilgore Shakespeare Festival and various other theater projects.
A memorial service is scheduled from 2-4:30 p.m., Sept. 12 at The Honors College Commons. Lunstroth requested donations be made to an animal charity or to her memorial scholarship in care of The Honors College in lieu of flowers.
