The University of Houston Staff Council is sponsoring its annual Sock and Blanket Drive for the benefit of the Star of Hope and the Harris County Protective Services Guardianship Program. The drive will run through Dec. 18.

The organization is collecting such items as new socks and underwear and new and clean blankets, towels, sheets, coats, sweaters, warm clothing, children’s and baby’s clothing, professional attire and over-the-counter medications.

Harris County Protective Services Guardianship Program requests that the items donated to them be new, and Star of Hope requests that the items be clean.

The Guardianship Program is seeking such items as new socks, underwear (all sizes from XS to XXXL), unisex clothing (such as sweat suits), makeup, cologne/perfume, stuffed animals, hairstyling products, adult diapers, blankets and comforters.
