Provost Donald J. Foss has been appointed to serve as interim
vice president for research for the University of Houston and
vice chancellor for research and intellectual property management
for the UH System, effective July 1.
The appointment was announced by Jay Gogue, UH president and
UHS chancellor.
Foss will continue to serve as senior vice president for academic
affairs at UH and senior vice chancellor for academic affairs
for UHS.
A search committee has been interviewing candidates to fill
the vice president of research position vacancy created by the
departure of Arthur C. Vailas, who assumed the presidency of
Idaho State University July 1. The committee recently submitted
a list of four names to Chancellor Gogue for his consideration.
