UH SYSTEM TO ENJOY GRAND SLAM EVENING

When the Houston Astros take on the Florida Marlins next month, they’re counting on an extra boost of fan support from the University of Houston System (UHS) – at discount ticket prices.

The Astros are hosting UH System Night at Minute Maid Park at 7:05 p.m. on Sept. 13. UHS faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to cheer on Houston’s pro baseball team as it competes for a place in the National League’s wild card race.

“This event reflects that the system is very much a family,” said James Anderson, executive associate to the UHS chancellor. “It also shows UHS’ connection with its various constituencies in the Houston metropolitan area and surrounding communities. Just as the system supports the civic efforts of organizations such as the Houston Astros, we know that they support the system in its educational and research initiatives.”

Special ticket pricing is available for this evening of baseball. Prices for UHS students, faculty, staff members, alumni and friends are as follows:

Field Boxes - $17.50
Bullpen Boxes - $11
Mezzanine - $7.50
View Deck I - $6
View Deck II - $5

Tickets can be ordered online at http://uh.edu/astros. The password required to receive this special ticket pricing is uhsystem. Convenience and handling fees will apply to all online orders. The deadline for Internet ticket orders is two hours before game time.

Those planning to purchase tickets at the Minute Maid Park Box Office on Texas Avenue, print the flyer at http://www.uh.edu/astros/uh.html. Present the flyer to the box office to receive UHS Night pricing. Purchases made at Minute Maid Park will not be subject to convenience and handling fees.

Box office hours are 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturdays.
