CALHOUN LANE CLOSURES STARTING AUGUST 8

Beginning Monday, Aug. 8, there will be lane closures on Calhoun Road for approximately two weeks due to parking garage construction. One lane in both directions will remain open to traffic. All work will take place between University Drive and Wheeler Street. The remainder of Calhoun Road is unaffected.

Details of the closure:

  • The northbound outside and inside lanes will be closed. The center lane will remain open.

  • The inside lane along the median of southbound Calhoun will be closed.

  • Approximately five feet on the north side of the Entrance 2 driveway will be closed. Traffic access to the College of Optometry and Campus Recreation and Wellness Center parking lots will remain open. The work in the driveway will take no more than five days.

  • A portion of Entrance 4 will be affected by the demolition and construction of the new perimeter sidewalk on the garage job site. Details and a traffic plan will be reviewed with the Traffic Enforcement department to minimize obstruction.

  • The sidewalk on the east side of the garage work site will be closed to foot traffic due to demolition and new construction. Pedestrians can still cross along University Drive and access the sidewalk on the north of the work site.

All of the above work will be completed by Friday, Aug. 19, and all barriers will be removed by the start of the new semester on Monday, Aug. 22.
