Werner Hoch, assistant professor of biology and biochemistry, died July 9 after suffering a heart attack.

The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM) will hold a memorial service for Hoch at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at the A.D. Bruce Religion Center. The college also has established a memorial fund in his honor. Contributions may be sent to Anh Le, assistant to the dean of NSM, Room 214, Science and Research Building 1, mail code 5008.

Hoch, who joined UH in 2002, was born July 19, 1959, in Sindelfingen, Germany. He is survived by his parents, Kreszendia and Aloise, and his brother, Wolfgang.
