LAW DEAN SELECTED TO NATIONAL AND
CITY POSITIONS
The American College of Bankruptcy and the Library
of Congress have tapped University of Houston Law Center Dean Nancy
B. Rapoport for two distinguished posts.
In March, Rapoport will be inducted as a Fellow
of the American College of Bankruptcy, where she will join distinguished
bankruptcy professionals who set standards of achievement for others
in the insolvency community.
“I’m thrilled to be inducted as a fellow
of this distinguished organization, and I look forward to working
with some truly legendary people,” Rapoport said.
Rapoport also has been selected to serve on the
Library of Congress’ Advisory Committee for its project, “The
Birth of the Dot-Com Era.” The project will preserve at-risk
digital materials from the American business culture during the
early years of the commercialization of the Internet.
Other committee members include Geoffrey Hazard,
the Trustee Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law
School; Robert W. Gordon, the Chancellor Kent Professor of Law and
Legal History at Yale Law School; and Richard Painter, the Guy Raymond
and Mildred Van Voorhis Jones Professor at the University of Illinois
College of Law.
“I still can’t quite believe that I
get to hang with such cool folks,” Rapoport said.
Rapoport also has been appointed to serve on the
city of Houston’s Pension Governance Advisory Committee.
