UH SURPASSES $1 MILLION MARK
IN SECC CONTRIBUTIONS
Because of the generosity of
582 faculty and staff members, the University of Houston has surpassed
the $1 million mark in contributions to the State Employee Charitable
Campaign (SECC).
“This marks the tenth year UH has participated
in the SECC, and what a great way to finish this year’s campaign
than breaking the million-dollar mark!” said John Rudley,
vice president for administration and finance and this year’s
UH SECC chair.
Contributions totaling $96,728 were tallied by the
end of the four-week 2004 campaign, bringing UH’s 10-year
total to $1,008,728. Although fewer employees participated this
year than last year, the average individual gift went up from $130
in 2003 to $166 in 2004.
“Our gratitude goes to the representatives
who volunteered to help in some of the colleges and departments—you
made the difference!” said Rudley. “And thank you, each
and every one of the 582 employees who made a gift.”
Even though the UH SECC campaign has officially
ended, we will continue to receive pledge forms through Thursday,
Dec. 16. If you need a form, please call 713-743-8579 or 713-743-8188.
