COORDINATING BOARD APPROVES NEW BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

A new biomedical engineering department, to be launched this year, is among several university-wide initiatives that will help raise UH to top-tier status.

NEA AWARDS FELLOWSHIP
TO UH POET HAYAN CHARARA

As a teenager, Hayan Charara was thrilled to see his first published poem a few pages away from a piece by influential beat scribe Allen Ginsberg. Now a UH doctoral candidate, Charara has been awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship for $25,000.

Staff Council Spring Forum

The free event will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Waldorf Astoria, Room 210 of the Hilton UH Hotel. The forum is an opportunity for staff members to meet with President Renu Khator and her cabinet for a question-and-answer exchange.
