W. Arthur Allee, who taught at the University of Houston C.T.
Bauer College of Business Administration and the College of
Education, died recently. He was 93.
Before beginning his tenure at UH, Allee taught at the University
of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana for three years. In 1956, he
moved to Houston and joined the UH faculty. Following a 23-year
career at the university, he retired in 1978.
He was a national president of Pi Omega Pi, an honorary business
education society. He was also a member of Delta Pi Epsilon,
a graduate honorary Huguenot Society, the Magna Carta Barons,
the Plantagenet Society and the Jamestown Society.
In addition, Allee was president of the Houston Chapter of
the American Records Management Association, and Records Manager
of the Year in 1970. He was president of the Texas State
Business Education Association, the president of the Mountain-Plains
Business Education and vice president of the International
Business Education Society.
