Loren Salas,
MED, NSCA-CPT

Your personal training program will include strength training, cardio training, and nutritional counseling, all of which will guide you to success. Thank you for considering Salas Fitness for your personal training needs.

After graduating with a degree in accounting and working as a tax accountant for many years, Loren decided to pursue his true passion in the health and fitness arena. Loren also holds a Master’s degree in Health and Human Performance and is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Rick Turner


Certified through The Cooper Institute.

Rick Turner has trained professional athletes for the past 12 years. He is a Certified Fitness Specialist, Certified USA Track and Field Coach, and USA boxing volunteer coach and currently preparing for CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) exam. His athletes represent the NFL, NBA, MLB, U.S. Olympic team and the NCAA. Rick is currently training a boxer who is the top ranked middleweight amateur in the country. He has shared his expertise with groups, teams, organizations and schools throughout the country.

Ashlea Wilson,
AFAA; CPT


Ashlea has been with University of Houston’s Campus Recreation for 3 years and now has expanded her horizons to Personal Training. She is excited about helping people achieve their fitness goals. She obtained her Personal Training Certification from Aerobics and Fitness Association of America and will be receiving her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in May. Ashlea’s personal goal is to help as many people as possible improve their quality of life through balanced nutrition and fitness.

Ose Okojie
Personal Training Institute

 

Ose Okojie is a Pre-Medical Senior majoring in Health with a minor in nutrition.  In addition to personal training, Ose works at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center doing breast cancer research. He believes in living a holistic lifestyle and tries to implement that value system in his personal training.  Ose uses his creativity when training, being careful to think outside the box and provide his clients with  functional and dynamic workouts.  When not personal training, you may find Ose training in the boxing ring.  In the Ishan tribe, Ose’s full name is Osemekhian, which means easy-going.  His pleasant personality and passion for fitness makes him a great trainer.  Ose obtained his  certification through the Personal Training Institute.

Kenny Carter
Cooper Institute CPT

Kenny Carter a senior double majoring in psychology and kinesiology here at UH.  He has nearly two years experience in personal training, but has been active in fitness since his youth.  As a big Tiger Woods fan, Kenny enjoys playing golf and has played golf at the collegiate level.  In addition to that, Kenny played college football.  Kenny's personal commitment to fitness has led him to a consistent regimen of weight training 4 - 5 times per week.  Kenny's cardio training involves jumprope and interval training.  Kenny's training philosophy involves a strong psychological approach.  Upon graduation, Kenny plans to pursue a Master's degree in sports/health psychology.

John Reynolds
ISSA (International Sports Science Association)  CPT

 

John Reynolds is in his Junior year here at UH majoring in Technological Leadership and Supervision.  He has been training professionally for one year.  John obtained his Personal Training certification through International Sports Sciences Association and has completed Basic Combat Training through the US Army.  John believes that “once given the tools necessary to fix a problem, one can inevitably accomplish anything.”  John uses this approach when training clients. 

            In Johns own words… “I do this job because I love to do it.  I get personal satisfaction from helping my clients reach their goals.”

Rachel Aguirre
AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) CPT

Rachel is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a Spanish minor. She started in the fitness industry working at Curves for Women, where she remained for 2.5 yrs. After her transfer to the University of Houston, she continued in the field as a group X instructor here at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center. She was in dance during her four years of high school and has recently trained in mixed martial arts (MMA). She has a strong love for fitness and has a desire to help you achieve your fitness goals.
