Faculty Position - Open Rank - Experimental Particle and/or Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics - Tenure-Track
The Department of Physics at the University of Houston seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-track position in Experimental Particle or Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics starting in the fall of 2010.
Our nominal plan is to make the appointment at the Assistant Professor level, however the salary and initial academic appointment levels are negotiable.
The existing faculty group has current active research interests in the areas of neutrino oscillation physics (Daya Bay Neutrino Experiment), relativistic heavy-ion physics (ALICE experiment at the LHC at CERN), dark matter search (DarkSide at DUSEL), and lepton flavor violation (COMET at JPARC). Applicants are required to have a PhD in physics in addition to experimental experience in one or more of these fields and a strong interest in teaching.
