Description:

The University of Houston (UH) is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Consumer Sciences and Merchandising (CSM).

UH is a major, public, comprehensive research university located in the fourth largest city in the United States. The Department of Human Development and Consumer Sciences (HDCS) is a vital part of the dynamic College of Technology. The HDCS Department is a leading multidisciplinary department with programs in Consumer Sciences and Merchandising (CSM), Human Resources Development, and Futures Studies in Commerce. The CSM program is noted for having the first on-line Consumer Sciences and Merchandising program in the United States. The program, supported by an active Advisory Board of retailing executives, is actively engaged in the Houston community.

The candidate must have an earned doctorate in retailing or a related discipline. The faculty member must have a focused research area and demonstrate the ability to publish in top-tier journals. The faculty member must have a commitment to work in an innovative environment that utilizes technology for teaching and research.
