Getting Help with a Facilities Issue Is Just a Text Message Away

Text to FSC

University faculty, staff and students can report a facilities issue or concern by sending a text message.

The Facilities Service Center receives and processes text messages from customers who need to report a facilities-related issue. Text messaging can be used for reporting many situations, such as a room being too hot or too cold, plumbing leaks, broken windows, an inoperative handicap automatic door opener and pest-control issues like mosquitos, bees and wasps. Facilities-related questions can also be sent by text.

Each text message should include your name and contact information, a description of the specific issue being reported, and the location of the problem (building name, room number, floor number, etc.). If you have photos of the issue you are reporting, please attach them to the text message. Photos can be useful in helping the technician identify the problem and location. This information will help the Facilities Service Center provide the best response in a timely manner.

So the next time someone needs to report a building or classroom that is too hot or too cold, all they have to do is send a text message to the Facilities Service Center—24 hours a day, seven days a week—to csc@central.uh.edu.
