METRO has informed the University of Houston that METRO will permanently close access to parking lot 12A from Entrance 12 on Wheeler Avenue, just east of Scott Street, in early January. METRO also informed the University of Houston that METRO began light-rail construction work on Scott between Wheeler and Holman on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Further, the University faces loss of all access points to parking lot 12A from Scott Street due to METRO construction and operations. All UH commuters using Scott Street are encouraged to find an alternate route when returning to campus due to the METRO construction on Scott between Elgin and Wheeler.  UH commuters using or attempting to access locations along Wheeler are reminded that METRO construction and operations have restricted access to these locations and to allow additional time for their commute.
