Associated General Contractors APEX Awards 2008

The Burdette Keeland Design Exploration Center, at the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture, University of Houston, has been recognized by the Associated General Contractors, Houston Chapter for excellence in design and construction for the category of Education Under $10 million. A jury of architecture and construction professionals visited projects located in a 24-county region. Outstanding achievement was recognized for overall design impression, quality of workmanship, contribution to the community and environment, and success of construction project management, scheduling, safety, and budget. The project was lauded for its unique technologies and building systems and the extraordinary craft executed by W. S. Bellows, the general contractor. The architect was Geoffrey Brune of GBA Architecture.
