The University of Houston’s Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars offers scholarships in support of the academic study of UH students with international experience. In years where the Delta Iota Chapter is able to fund scholarships, an announcement will be made at least three weeks prior to the deadline. The deadline will be posted as well as the scholarship application. The Phi Beta Delta Scholarship is typically awarded during the spring semester and presented during the induction ceremony.
Amount: Disbursement amounts are betwen $500 and $1000 depending on the availability of funds.
Eligibility: Domestic and international students are eligible to apply. Scholarship recipients will qualify for an in-state tuition waiver if applicable. Applicants must demonstrate active involvement in international educational activities. Undergraduate applicants and students in professional colleges (Law, Optometry and Pharmacy) must have and maintain at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA. Graduate applicants must have and maintain at least a cumulative 3.5 GPA. Scholarship recipients will be awarded membership in Phi Beta Delta, or will be awarded membership renewal if currently a member.
Support: The primary funding source for the Delta Iota Chapters is from private donations, generous benefactors, and the accrued interest from the chapter endowment fund. For more information about the endowment, and to make a contribution, click here.
