UHCOP Completes Phase 1 of Move into Health and Biomedical Sciences Building 2

The first phase of UH College of Pharmacy's move into its new home in Health and Biomedical Sciences Building 2 was completed in late July, with preparations for the Fall 2017 semester getting under way in earnest.   

Upon completion, the college will occupy 138,000 gross square feet and five floors in the 300,000-square-foot, nine-story Health and Biomedical Sciences Building 2. For more details about the building's state-of-the-art instructional and research features, please visit the HBSB2 page

Moving in the first phase early all executive leaders and administrative personnel, including the offices of Experiential Programs, Assessment, and Pharm.D. Student Services from Science & Research Building 2, as well as staff members and non-laboratory related clinical faculty members in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research from the Texas Medical Center Building. All four classes of the UHCOP Pharm.D. program are now based at the HBSB2. 

Remaining faculty and staff members in the PPTR department as well as faculty, staff and graduate students in the departments of Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes & Policy and Pharmacological & Pharmaceutical Sciences from the TMC Building and SR2 are scheduled to move in late 2017 after their offices, laboratories and student spaces in HBSB2 have been completed.

All existing phone numbers for personnel and offices are unchanged, but the new physical and mailing address for UHCOP is: Health and Biomedical Sciences Building 2, University of Houston College of Pharmacy, 4849 Calhoun Road, Room 3046, Houston, TX 77204-5000.

Access to the college's spaces on floors 3 through 8 is controlled by authorized keycards via elevators and the grand staircase at the rear of Health and Biomedical Sciences Building 1. An intercom system at the elevator bank on the first floor and staircase on the third floor will allow visitors to contact college personnel for access.
