Mac OS X 10.8 (IT Managers Only- No Exceptions)

Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion is only available for Department IT Managers. Only IT Managers will receive this software upon request. If you are not an IT Manager please contact your department IT Manager and they can supply you with the software.

If you are an IT Manager please email software@uh.edu and they will put you in contact with the proper channel to obtain the software. IT Managers are solely responsible for requesting and testing 10.8. UIT can offer support with department testing for each specific case, if required. 

Why?

Each IT department is required to perform different tasks, and have many distinct and separate needs. Therefore, a better short-term solution is to first offer the software to the IT Administrators of each department. Administrators can test the software with regard to the departments needs, and determine whether to upgrade based on their environment. 

Disclaimer: A technical change in 10.8 is as follows- Mountain Lion does not support 32 bit Kernel Extensions. 10.8 can still run 32 bit applications, but will not run applications with 32 bit kernel extensions. You can determine an applications bit per activity monitor.

Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion is only available for Department IT Managers.
