  • UH’s ‘Animating History’ Project Revisits Community's Golden Age

    This semester, University of Houston students from the School of Art’s Graphic Design Program teamed up with peers in the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design to offer a glimpse into the Third Ward’s past. The project, “Animating History,” paired students who designed 22 life size map pins that illustrate once successful establishments along the Dowling Street corridor.

  • UH Student’s Research Reveals Understated Side of Walt Whitman

    Walt Whitman is regarded as one of the greatest American poets. Much has been written about the man and his work, but a University of Houston scholar recently uncovered articles that shed fresh light on this important literary figure.

  • NASA Gives UH Students ‘Once in a Lifetime’ Opportunity

    A group of University of Houston students has completed an ambitious senior project, refurbishing an out-of-date vacuum chamber at NASA’s Johnson Space Center that now will be used to test components bound for the International Space Station and, potentially, Mars or other deep space destinations.

    Two University of Houston students have earned summer internships at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C.
