Healthy Homes

All environmental health is built on the foundation of a healthy home. In collaboration with an innovative new project led by Baylor College of Medicine, UT School of Public Health, and the City of Houston's Bureau of Community and Children's Environmental Health, we will be developing a Healthy Homes app to help parents and health workers address environmental contamination and the inside air pollution that causes the majority of respiratory health problems.

Community health workers will use the app to collect information about homes and neighborhoods and provide feedback to parents in a home that has environmental contaminants—especially triggers for their children's asthma or potential exposure to toxics like lead. The app will also provide individuals tools for improving their own environment.

Contact Dan Price or Peggy Lindner for more information about how to get involved with the Healthy Homes app.
