Graduation

Graduation with Special Distinction

Students who complete the Honors College curriculum requirements earn special distinction and receive special recognition at general University commencement ceremonies. These distinctions are in addition to graduating with Latin honors based on grade point average.

Students in the second semester of their junior year should set a graduation meeting with an Honors College advisor to ensure they are on track to meet Honors College graduation requirements. Students who have completed 60 semester hours or more should also meet with an advisor in their home department to file their degree plan. Prior to the semester in which they wish to graduate, students should submit a graduation application request online through their myUH online account.

All Honors College graduates are invited to the Honors Graduation Banquet held annually in May. This event is a semi-formal occasion at which the college individually recognizes all of our graduates of the past academic year. The Honors Graduation Banquet marks a joyful finale to one's undergraduate Honors experience, a celebration attended by Honors College faculty, staff and students. Graduates are encouraged to bring their family and friends.
