A complete application for The Honors College includes:

  • an Honors College application completed online
  • a full-length academic essay of three to five pages (300-word minimum), such as a literary analysis or research paper with a central thesis and strong supporting arguments
  • list of interests and activities
  • high school transcript and/or college transcript
  • application fee of $25.00 (personal check or money order only, made payable to "University of Houston;" please do not send cash)
  • SAT/ACT scores

Transfer students also should send college transcripts. If you have already sent transcripts to the Office of Admissions, it is not necessary to send a second copy to The Honors College.
