Support the Annual Fund
What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund at the University of Houston provides support for colleges, departments, and programs across the campus. Within The Honors College, annual gifts fund scholarships, special projects and other general needs of the College.
What is the difference between the Annual Fund and my Houston Alumni Organization membership?
Your Annual Fund gift provides direct support for The Honors College; the gift is a charitable contribution for tax purposes. Houston Alumni Organization membership dues support alumni activities and are not tax-deductible.
How can I make a gift to The Honors College through the Annual Fund?
You can submit a contribution online by using our secure Web Site, or you can make a credit card gift over the phone by calling 713.743.9973.
Contributions can be mailed to:
The Honors College
University of Houston
212 M.D. Anderson Library
Houston, TX 77204-2001
(On your check or in your letter, please specify The Honors College as the area to which your support should be directed, and include your telephone number.)
Will my gift make a difference compared to the large gifts the college sometimes receives?
Annual Fund gifts have a tremendous impact because they allow The Honors College to address immediate needs. Large gifts are usually designated for a specific purpose and establish endowments that provide long-term income from their earnings and support the University in perpetuity.
What are matching gifts?
Many corporations match their employees' charitable contributions. Your support for The Honors College can be doubled or possibly tripled if your company matches gifts. Contact your employer's Human Resources Department to learn if your company has a matching gift program and to obtain the appropriate form. Include the completed matching gift form with your gift to The Honors College.
