2012 Co-Chairs for The Great Conversation

Meet the 2012 Event Co-Chairs

Deborah Brochstein

Deborah BrochsteinDeborah, a native Houstonian, spend eight years living, earning degrees (BFA, MFA) and working in Missouri and California. Upon returning to Houston she entered her family's business which manufactures custom architectural woodwork and furniture, and realized she needed more education (MBA). Steven Hecht, who attended the UH Honors College and Law School, introduced Deborah to the great things happening at UH. Together they have attended "A Night of Great Conversation" every year since they met. They enjoy attending because of the stimulating intellectual experience and opportunity to raise money to help students with outstanding minds get an excellent education in Houston.

Connie Simmons Taylor

Connie Simmons TaylorConnie, originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, came to Houston and the University of Houston Honors College as a college freshman. She is now a partner at Baker Botts L.L.P. practicing in the area of commercial real estate transactions and was pleased to be asked to join the UH Honors College Advisory Board by Dean Ted Estess prior to his retirement. Connie is excited about being involved in this 20th year of sharing great conversations from Honors with the Houston community.
