Cynthia Freeland, a specialist in Ancient Greek Philosophy, Ethics, and Aesthetics, teaches in The Human Situation sequence as well as courses in Feminist Philosophy. Her recent publications included But Is It Art?, a philosophical examination of contemporary art; Feminist Interpretations of Aristotle, an anthology; and The Naked and the Undead: Evil and the Appeal of Horror. She is a Professor and Chair in the Philosophy Department and has served as Director of Women’s Studies. (Ph.D., University of Pittsburgh)
