Spirit Cup
The Cougar Spirit Cup Competition is the annual competition to award the students that show the most Cougar spirit by competing in a series of fun and challenging tasks throughout Homecoming Week. Show off your Cougar Pride and school spirit by displaying the best representation of what the University of Houston is all about! We encourage participants to focus on Houston and the University’s culture, pride, traditions, and great school spirit. The broad nature of the theme provides participants the opportunity to be creatively fun and unique and showcase their organization in the best way possible! Let the games begin!
Applications must be submitted by Saturday, October 28th.
Spirit Cup Requirements
Teams can be comprised of an single registered student organization (RSO) or a combination of RSOs (i.e. fraternity or sorority, a sports club, an academic club, etc.). Additionally, individual students may also participate in the Spirit Cup Competition by creating a team of currently enrolled University of Houston students (i.e. residence halls, volunteer group, classmates) . The minimum number of participants a group must contain is five (5) with a maximum of thirty (30). All rules and deadlines apply to all teams. If you are unsure whether you are an eligible group or have any questions about the rules, please contact the Homecoming Board.
Teams are required to participate in all events. If the team is a registered student organization, all team members must be a registered member of the organization. Registration for the Spirit Cup and all other forms shall be found online through the UH Homecoming website.
One representative from EACH team participating in the Spirit Cup must attend at least one information session. Teams will NOT be able to participate in the Spirit Cup if they do not attend the meeting.
